Biography
I am an instructor in the chemistry department at Raparin University's College of Science, and I have been the head of medical laboratory science since December 2022. In the chemical department, I teach biochemistry I, II, III, and clinical biochemistry I.
In 2007, I started working at the University of Sulaimani.
In 2006, I received a BSc. degree in general basic chemistry from Suliamania University's College of Science, and in 2012, I received an M.Sc. degree with distinction in biochemistry from Koya University.
In 2021, the University of Technology Malaysia gave me a PhD in bioscience. As a lecturer in the chemistry department of science, I teach biochemistry and clinical biochemistry.
Philosophy of Teaching
Teaching is my interest, and it is an important part of my scientific career. I never feel more energized than after I finish a lecture and I see that most of the students have understood the lecture and I got my students interested in the subject. My teaching philosophy is the result of my experience as a teacher for five years and also as a student for 18 years in my country. As a student, I have experienced great teachers as they are still motivating me to follow the same path they taught me. As a teacher, my teaching philosophy is to:1. Provide students with opportunities to perpetuate knowledge and inspire learning, which will assist them in achieving their objectives.
2. Present the lecture in a way that gets my students interested in the subject.
3. Clarify the subjects in a way that most of the students can understand, bearing in mind that not all of the students can understand in one go with the same teaching style.
4. Create an environment in the classroom that encourages group discussions. This will maximize the students' potential for critical thinking and help them retain the information.
5. Link the lecture with daily life, if possible. Life-long learning, in my opinion, occurs when students are able to connect the information offered with real-world applications.
6. Spend enough time with students during office hours to hear their questions and provide further explanation of the subject for those students who need tutoring in order to understand the subject.
