Philosophy of Teaching
Philosophy of TeachingAs learning is part of life, it stands to reason that those who are willing to learn at every opportunity will have an advantage over those who are not. While some learners have a natural flair for learning, others find it more difficult and need some sort of guidance and/or stimulus to help them. Whichever is the case, learners should know what they can do to improve their learning capabilities and it is a prime objective for teachers to instruct their students how to achieve it. Indeed, a teacher’s responsibility toward their students is now so great that this objective is considered paramount. It is now my aim to get students to become more/entirely autonomous in their studies by helping them take responsibility for their own learning as well as teaching them to maximize opportunities so that they can take advantage of situations that will further their learning experiences.
In addition, teachers are concerned with teaching their students how to deal with challenging situations in an intelligent and rational manner, while also telling them that becoming active members of society requires hard work. This requires great dedication on the part of teachers because if the objective of helping each student become autonomous is to be achieved then teachers have to see students as individuals and expose each separately to a series of strategies, goals and situations so that they become more comfortable being in control of their learning. Having said that, this is just the beginning; a way to make them understand that learning is about much more than attaining a few good grades.
The conclusion, therefore, is that working with others cooperatively creates opportunities for others to contribute to discussions; exchange information and ideas and adjust responses. It is my personal leadership vision to become a positive model for those around me, known for a caring heart, loving enthusiasm, devoted work ethic, and creative spirit.
