Biography
Welcome! Thank you for taking the time to visit my profile!
I am a Lecturer of Management at the University of Raparin, Visiting Masters' Supervisor at the University of Kurdistan Hewler in Kurdistan Region of Iraq. I am also working as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the School of International and Public Affairs, Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China.
My research focus is interdisciplinary: I mainly study employee attitudes and behaviors in public organizations. I am also interested in issues related to higher education reform. I employ both quantitative (cross-sectional, longitudinal and survey experiments) and qualitative methods in my studies. To further my expertise on employee attitudes and behaviors, I have developed collaborative networks with scholars in various countries; including: Australia, China, Germany, New Zealand and the United Arab Emirates.
In 2018, I was awarded the No. 1 Social Science Researcher of the Year by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. As of today, I have received more than $12,000 in compensation for my research that has resulted in publications in international peer reviewed journals such as Public Administration Review, Journal of Knowledge Management, International Public Management Journal and others.
I hold a PhD from Beihang University (2018), Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Canberra (2014), Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting from University of South Australia (2012) and Bachelor degree in Business Management Science from University of Kurdistan Hewler (2010).
Philosophy of Teaching
My work as a lecturer is driven by my desire to prepare students for a better career and empower them to become leaders within public private organizations. Throughout my tertiary education, I have always been a hard (and sometimes smart!) working student and stood our among my peers. As a teacher, I challenge my students to work hard, to ask and tackle difficult questions, and to go beyond basic understanding of the material, but to critique it. I treat my students as individuals’ first, students second. By recognizing their diverse backgrounds, learning styles, and professional goals, I work with each student to get the most out of his or her education and always provide timely and constructive feedback on their work. Finally, I bring my enthusiasm and practical examples into the classroom, while at the same time showing students how the subject matter can be applied to real-world problems. This motivates students and engages them with the course material.Certificates
