Biography

Hawkar is a lecturer in the field of civil engineering /Structural Engineering. He joined the work firstly at Koya University from May 2013 to October 2018, then moved to University of Raparin. He has got B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering from Koya University, Koya, Kurdistan - Iraq in 2010, and M.Sc. degree in Structural Engineering from The University of Nottingham, Nottingham, UK in 2012. He is now a member of civil engineering academic staff and teaching in civil engineering department, University of Raparin.

Philosophy of Teaching

During my experience in the last years teaching at Koya University - Faculty of Engineering - Civil Department, and my recent years at University of Raparin - Civil Department, I have reached to some results regarding the level of my students background and their comprehension to the lessons compared with mine during my BSc time. It is usually a perfect way during teaching if you fix in your mind that you are standing in front of many students with a variety of cultures, attitudes and even their level of intelligence. If it is done, So, you can give a flexibility to your explanation of the topics to adapt with the mood of at least most of the students. Secondly, During this process, always suppose that you are in the position of one of the students and ask yourself, what is the best to present the lecture such that make a balance between the level of teaching and student-teacher relationship. Additionally, relating any topic with reality can facilitate the understanding to the audience. Finally, keeping always up to date and present the topics in the most modern and style slides.
