Philosophy of Teaching

My Philosophy of Education

I believe that education is a holistic process aimed at nurturing the human being in knowledge, character, and thought. From the perspective of my specialization in Usul al-Fiqh (Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence), I view university education as more than the transmission of information—it involves instilling a disciplined methodology of critical thinking, fostering the ability to reflect and engage in ijtihad (independent reasoning), and upholding the ethics of research and respectful disagreement, all in alignment with the objectives of Sharia and in service of the realities of our Ummah.

In my teaching, I strive to revive a spirit of active learning, encourage students to question and analyze, and connect theoretical knowledge to contemporary issues, while taking individual differences into account and creating a respectful and dialogical learning environment. I also firmly believe in the importance of being a role model; a university instructor educates not only through the content of lectures but also through behavior and attitude.

Through my academic mission, I aim to contribute to the development of researchers who are equipped with the tools of ijtihad, who understand the higher objectives of Islamic law, and who can harmonize authenticity with modernity, becoming agents of reform and constructive contributors to their
