Philosophy of Teaching
My Philosophy of Education
I believe that education is a holistic process aimed at building the human being in knowledge, character, and thought. From the perspective of my specialization in the principles of Islamic jurisprudence (Usul al-Fiqh), I view university education as not merely the transmission of knowledge, but as a means to instill a sound methodology of scientific thinking, develop the ability to engage in independent reasoning (ijtihad), and foster adherence to the ethics of research and respectful disagreement — all in alignment with the objectives of Sharia and in service of the realities of the Muslim ummah.
In my teaching, I am committed to reviving the spirit of active learning, encouraging students to ask questions, and linking theoretical knowledge with contemporary issues. I strive to address individual differences and provide a learning environment characterized by respect and open dialogue.
I also firmly believe in the importance of being an educational role model. A university professor does not teach solely through lecture content, but also through personal conduct and stances. Through my academic mission, I seek to contribute to the development of researchers equipped with the tools of ijtihad, a deep understanding of the objectives of Sharia, and the ability to harmonize authenticity with modernity — so they may become agents of reform and constructive contributors to their societies.
