Directorate of Legal Affairs

The Directorate of Legal Affairs is attached to the Presidency of the University and represents the University in all legal matters with regard to personnel, contractors, property, and relations between individuals on University property.
Mission: The Mission of the Directorate of Legal Affairs is to provide competent and independent legal advice to the University administration and community in order to support their educational activities and rights.
The Directorate consists of three main Sections. These are:

1. Section of Legal Affairs and Requests:
a. Preparing, issuing and renewing all contracts with employees and staff.
b. Participation and consultation with all staff, faculty and student committees and organizations to ensure they follow legal procedures.
c. Representing the university in court in all cases related to the university.
d. Maintaining all confidential dossiers related to students, employees and staff that arise within legal issues related to the university.

2. Section of General Contracts:
a. Preparing tenders for projects and following up the tender procedures to maintain legal compliance.
b. Preparing, issuing and renewing all contracts with contractors for projects and also third party service contracts such as the cafeterias, photographers, photocopy and internet access.
c. Resolving issues and problems/complaints with contractors and service providers through negotiation, arbitration, or through legal action if necessary.

3. Section of Property, Estate, and Notarial:
a. Maintaining legal documentation and supervising legal procedures for all properties of the university in local, regional and national offices (Raparin Municipality, Directorate of Property Registration, Directorate of Agriculture, etc.)..
b. Supervising and arranging all legal contracts for residences of University staff, employees, and guests.
c. According to the ministerial decree number 21274 in November 02, 2013 this directorate has a right to perform all legal notarial affairs of the university and archive all documents.
