Today, Sunday (28th of February, 2021), with the presence of his excellency Assistant Professor Dr. Mofaq Khalid Ebraheem, the president of University of Raparin and a number of University Board Members, Students and Teachers, the two English departments of both Ranya and Qaladze campuses held the 2nd Academic Debate Conference at Activity Hall, College of Basic Education, which was organized collaboratively by English department/College of Basic Education and General Representation of Students of University of Raparin.

The conference opened with a speech by Assistant Professor, Dr. Rizgar Haji Saleh, the dean of College of Basic Education. In his speech, the dean stressed the significance of the conference as an important factor to motivate students from English and all other departments to develop their language skills.
Later, the representative of General Representation of Students of University of Raparin (Rebwar Rajab Hamad) presented their speech to the audience in which he explained the role of students’ association in organizing various types of events and their constant support to students.
The conference comprised 8 panels. Students from all the stages of both morning and evening classes of both Ranya and Qaladze campuses participated in the event.
Finally, at the end of the conference, the closing speech of the presidency of English department/College of Basic Education was delivered by Dr. Jamal Ali Omar in which he stressed the role of such type of events and similar activities in making the students at the center of the learning process.
