On November 29th, 2022, in the presence of her Excellency Assist. Prof. Dr. Paiman Ramazan Ahmad, president of the UoR, along with a number of jurists and doctors, department of law at College of Humanities of the UoR organized a workshop entitled ‘Doctors’ Rights and Duties Under Applicable Rules’.
The workshop started with a moment of silence, paying tribute to Kurdistan's freedom martyrs. Then Assist. Prof. Dr Ibrahim Salih Barzinji, Head of the department, delivered the speech of the Law Department. Dr Rozhgar Ahmed Mahmood chaired the first panel including a session under the title of ‘Doctor’s Civil Responibility in the Law of Iraq’ presented by Assist. Prof. Dr. Sangar A. Rasul. The second panel was led by Mr. Hemin H. Ibrahim in which ‘The Rights of The Patients and Doctors Crime Responsibilities and Protection’ were discussed by Mr Hiwa M. Abdulla.
Both panels let the audience taking part in a question-answer session. Additionally, the aim of the workshop was to familiarize doctors with their rights and duties as well as circumstances of their responsibilities in front of the law.
The workshop came to the end with recommendations made for the purpose of applying the applicable rules of law in positions connected to the area. The recommendations are due to be sent to all that may concern.
