Dr Rewaz Fayaq, Speaker of Kurdistan Parliament, on Jan 16th, 2023, received both of President of UoR, Assist. Prof. Dr. Paiman R. Ahmed and President of UoH, Assist. Prof. Dr. Mahabad K. Abdullah, as well as representatives of Asuda Organization.
Universities’ affairs, activities of socialist groups and activists were thoroughly discussed in a meeting. Dr Rewaz highly praised the effective roles of female academists, university professors and lecturers, social activists, and their brave stands. ‘Women play a significant role to defend the human rights in general, in various public sectors and organizations. They work hard for the public rights and the equality between men and women concerning their social duties. Therefore, Parliament of Kurdistan is lending its continuous support and help wherever needed, especially in legal terms and within the parliamentary framework’, Dr Rewaz said. She further added that 'everyone has to place maintaining the community safety and security their top priority. They should not allow decades of the women's active role being intermingled with whatever things far from Kurdish women's intentions and characteristics.’
The delegation members went on further discussion and pointed out their suggestions in the light of circumstances of Kurdistan and the chaos of Kurdish media. They agreed to place maintaining the community safety their top priority. At the end, the delegation praised the Speaker of Parliament for her explicit and constant support.
