The British-Kurdish Dialogue was Held at the University of Raparin on The Rule of Law

    In cooperation with the British Consulate General in Erbil, in the presence of the UoR president, Asst. Prof. Dr. Paiman R. Ahmed, the Head of Raparin Administration, Mr. Hiwa Qarani, the Iraqi MP, Mr. Gharib Ahmed, NGO representatives, as well as a large number of other officials and participants, the British-Kurdish Dialogue was held in an academic symposium at the University of Raparin under the title of ‘The Rule of Law’ on Tuesday, 29-Aug-2023

   The symposium began with the national anthems of the United Kingdom and the Kurdistan Region's (Aey Raqib). Then the university president delivered the UoR presidency speech during which her excellency expressed her gratitude to the help and support the British Consulate General in Erbil, and the Deputy Mayer of Lambeth, have made into holding the symposium, and she further focused on the main points and the structure of the symposium.

    Later on, the Deputy Mayer of Lambeth, Mr.  Sarbaz Barzinji, delievered his speech and outlined the importance of the symposium and the sovereignty of the law in Kurdistan and in the world. Following that, the British Consulate General in Erbil, Rosy Cave, presented the consulate's speech.

   The main panel of the symposium was chaired by Dr. Rebaz Rasul, a lecturer at the UoR's department of law, during which the following seminars were given:

1- 'The first seminar', by Mr. James Oates, cheif of the Political Affairs at the British Consulate General in Erbil.

2- 'The second seminar', by Dr. Hiwa A. Hussein, a lecture at the university of Sulaimani.

3- 'The third seminar' by Dr. Yadgar K. Ahmed, a lecture at Koya university.

4- 'The fourth seminar' by Sanar Sh. Ali, a lecture at Soran university.

   The symposium ended with a Q&A session and discussion between the panelists and the participants. At the end, the symposium presenters and panelists were awarded certificates of appreciation.
