In a significant move towards development, The University of Raparin (UOR), and Tishk International University (TIU) have initiated a strategic partnership, signaling a new era of collaboration in higher education and research. This collaboration was established on October 19th, 2023, during a meeting attended by delegates from both institutions.
During the meeting, both sides presented a brief summary about their universities. The UOR delegation, led by Assist. Prof. Dr. Paiman Ramazan Ahmad, University President, and consisting of Assist. Prof. Dr. Jamal Ali Omar, Director General of the Research Center, Assist. Prof. Dr. Hawraz Qadir Hama, Dean of the College of Education, and Mr. Araz Mohammed Ismail, Director of the International Relations Office, presented the unique strengths and contributions of their institution. On the other side, the TIU delegation, consisting of Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdul Samad Salahuddin Ahmad, President of TIU, Dr. Fatih Cura, Administrative and Finance Vice President, Dr. Dogan Ozdmir, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Dr. Hiwa Banna, Head of Nursing Department, Dr. Jaafer Hussein, Director of the International Relations Office, and Dr. Shukir S. Hasan, Lecturer in the Faculty of Nursing, shared insights into TIU’s academic excellence and vision.
The meeting provided a platform for discussions on the academic processes in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI). Both universities engaged in constructive dialogues, exploring ways to enhance and optimize the academic landscape in the region. The partnership agreement encompasses a broad spectrum of cooperative initiatives, including student exchange programs, collaborative research projects, and the development of joint academic programs. These efforts are poised to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and foster academic growth. By formalizing this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), both universities are now set to embark on a transformative journey of collaboration.
