In the presence of Dean of College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, Asst. Prof. Dr. Muhammed I. Muhammed, as well as the lecturers and the students of the University of Raparin, the UOR’s Department of Horticulture at Qaladize campus held a workshop on ‘The Reality of Status of the Existence, Composition and Importance of Medicinal Plants in the Kurdistan Region’, on October 31st, 2023.

The workshop was divided into two panels. The first panel was chaired by Asst. Lect. Muhammed O. Ahmed, and the second panel was chaired by Dr. Azad S. Abdullah. The following seminars were presented during the two panels:
1- ‘Traditional Kurdish Medicine and Human Health’ by Asst. Prof. Badr Q. Surchy
2- ‘Drug Discovery from Medicinal Plants: Techniques of Extraction of Natural Compounds from Medicinal Plants’ by Asst. Prof. Dr. Fuad O. Abdullah
3- ‘Classification of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants’ by Dr. Ali M. Gallalayi
4- ‘Medicinal And Aromatic Plants: Past Present and Future’ by Asst. Lect. Aso H. Hussamaddin
The workshop ended with a Q&A session and certificate distribution to the workshop participants. Translated by Rasul H. Rasul
