The University of Raparin and the Raparin Directorate of Combating Violence Against Women and Family held a joint panel on ‘Violence Against Women and Family’, on Nov 27th, 2023.

   The event started with the speech of the UOR President, Asst. Prof. Dr. Paiman R. Ahmed. Following that was the speech of the Raparin Directorate of Combating Violence Against Women and Family, given by Col. Abdullah Hussein. Additionally, the Department of Kindergarten performed a short play on stage under the title of ‘Life Continues’, supervised by Asst. Lect. Omer Muhammed.

   Later on, a panel was organized and chaired by Asst. Lect. Sakar Omer during which the following three seminars were presented:
1- ‘The Role of Education in Combating Violence Against the Family’ by Dr. Rukhsar Muhammed
2- ‘The Kurdistan Lawmaker's Stance on Confronting Violence Against Women and Families’ by Asst. Prof. Ibrahim S. Barzinji
3- ‘The Role of Media on the Violence Against Women and Family’ by Lect. Deedan Majeed
   At the end of the event, the participants were awarded certificates of Appreciation.
