On Thursday April 23, 2015 Directorate of Relations, Media and Publications held a conference with the anniversary of 117th publishing the first Kurdish newspaper named Kurdistan.
Some of the Kurdish media specialists of the region (Dr. Herish Rasul,Dr. Hemin Majid, DR. Nezaket  Husen, Dr. Maghdid Sepan, Asst. lecturers Tazhan Dilshad and Araz Remezan)were participated with different seminars.

The conference started with standing a moment for the martyrs of Kurdistan freedom. Later Dr. Sabah Rasheed, vice president for the scientific and higher education affairs, presented a speech of the presidency of Raparin University. In his speech Dr. Sabah talked about the role of media in almost all aspects of life, he further stated that the Kurdish media should have a positive role in dealing and focusing on the crisis that faces Kurdistan, such as the ISIS militants, economic crisis etc…, and later on, presenting seminars by the lecturers stared, which have been divided into two different periods of time.
The first seat was at 10 a.m., and three seminars were presented to the audiences.
The first seminar was presented by Dr. Hemin Majeed, lecturer at the media department at University of Sulaimani entitled (Media and crisis).
The second seminar was presented by Dr. Nazaket Hussen, lecturer at the media department at University of Sulaimani entitled (How media would be a cure in crisis).
The third and last seminar of the first seat was presented by Dr. Herish Rasul, lecturer at the media department at University of Sulaimani, entitled (Media Responsibility).
The second seat was started at 2:30 p.m. and presenting seminars were continued, and the first seminar was presented by Dr. Maghdid Sepan, lecturer at the media department at Salahadin University on (New journalism and violence).
The second seminar was on (The role of media in creating violent idea) and presented by Tazhan Dilshad, MA in Media.
The third seminar was on (The role of media in facing terror) and presented by Araz Ramazan, MA in Media.
The fourth and last seminar was on (Media terror in a completion relation) and presented by Nawzad Jemal, MA in Philosophy.
At the end of the conference, certificate of participation was given to the seminar presenters by University of Raparin.
