A group of Academics from Kurdistan, visiting Virginia Tech for 3 weeks this month, has watched from afar as their homeland faces attack by ISIS militants.
The group is here studying higher education practices and principles in order to bring them back to their home universities. It’s funded by the U.S. State Department and the Iraqi Embassy. When they left home, Kurdistan was in peace.

University of Raparin Joins Erasmus Mundus-Action 2-Marhaba Program Funded by European Commission –Head by Spain- University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain
Headed by the University of Santiago de Compostela, after preparing and submitting a proposal to participate in Marhaba program which is similar to Salam program funded by European Union, the University of Raparin obtained the program acceptance. Marhaba is a for years program, starting from 2014 to 2018 including these countries ( Spain, Iraq, Britain, Portugal, Italy, France, Bulgaria, Poland and two other academic partners ( Arab union universities and the group of Santiago de Compostela universities).
