On Wednesday, March 8, 2017, under the patronage of his excellency Qubad Talabani, vice prime minster of Kurdistan Regional Government, in the 26 anniversary of Kurds Uprising which was coincident to the women’s day March 8, University of Raparin in cooperation with the Girls Book Group held a conference at the University of Raparin under the title “Women in Kurds Revolution and Uprising”.

The Conference was held in the occasion of the 26 anniversary of Kurds uprising and the women’s day on March 8, the conference started at 9:30 AM, and was arranged in three panels in which 12 topics were presented by researchers on the role played by women in Kurds revolution and uprising.

At the end of the conference the participant researchers and some other public figures were awarded by the University of Raparin’s presidency. The higher committee of the conference declared that in the near future they will publish the conference executives and give it to the affiliated establishments.

   On Monday March 6, 2017, on the 26th anniversary of the 5th March uprising, University of Raparin in cooperation with the center of the democratic organizations in Raparin held “Raparin Forum for Confronting Terrorism in Kurdistan” at the hall of activities of University of Raparin.
The Forum is about the greatest event in Kurdish modern history and its consequences for confrontation of terrorism, during the forum (9) different topics from different dimensions and perspectives for challenging terror in Kurdistan region were presented.
The aim of the forum is to show the various dimensions of the uprising for challenging terror in the Kurdistan region. It is worth to be mentioned that in three panels of the forum (9) different subjects were presented by academics, experts and civil activists.

   On Tuesday, February 7, 2017, in a cooperative meeting between the University of Raparin’s council headed by Asst. Pr. Dr. Mufaq Khalid Ibraim and Dr. Fakhraddin Akhlaqyan the president of the University of Kurdistan and his accompanied delegation, the two parties decided on various cooperative projects.

In the meeting they decided to build students exchange scholarship program for students in Raparin territories, especially those who want to study master, PhD or bachelor degree at the University of Kurdistan in Sanandij, Iran, the qualified students will be offered fifty percent discount of their studying fee. Based on the agreement the University of Raparin can open Persian Language courses directed by University of Kurdistan’s academic staff and the Language and development Centre at the University of Raparin will give the participants Persian Language Certificate.
